2019 EVENTS

Delivery of garden supplies

Submit your order form by Sunday 3 March and supplies will be delivered on Saturday, 16 March. Every year we offer a range of garden supplies with prices similar to those you’ll find at local garden centres and the FGA provides free delivery! On the back of this letter you’ll find the order form for fertilisers, composts and seed potatoes. Please do take advantage of this service by submitting a big order. The profit from these deliveries goes toward FGA activities in the village.

Extra order forms can be downloaded here: 2019 Garden Supplies Order Form.pdf.

Order forms, with full payment, can be  delivered to Linda Smith (11 Shepreth Road), Steve Tongish (1 Hardman Road) or Jill Hockley (6 Illingworth Way).

Annual General Meeting

Tuesday, 9 April, 7:30pm in the Village Hall Meeting Room

The annual AGM is an opportunity to learn about the FGA and elect new officers. Our speaker for the evening will be Marcus Kohler, a local ecologist with over 30 years’ experience and founder of the award-winning business MKA Ecology (www.mkaecology.co.uk). We always welcome new committee members to help us beautify our village.  Wine and snacks will be served after the meeting.

Plant Sale and Swap with refreshments served by the WI

Saturday 18 May, 10:00am – 12:00 in the Cricket Pavilion

This popular event is your chance to pick up new plants for your garden and home.  From vegetables to flowers, you’ll find what you need for the coming summer growing season while enjoying a tea and scone.

Open Gardens 2019

Sunday 23 June, 2:00pm – 5:00pm

One again your neighbours will be generously opening their beautiful gardens for a wonderful Sunday stroll through Foxton.  It’s a great event with tea and delicious cakes along the way.

Day out to Kathy Brown’s Garden

Thursday 18 July

The FGA team is planning another of our popular garden trips. This year we are visiting Kathy Brown’s amazing garden in Bedford (www.kathybrownsgarden.com). £28 per person includes entrance, garden tour, tea and cakes and the coach transport. A great day out that shouldn’t be missed. Space is limited so make your reservations now with Julie Bamborough at julie.bamborough@gmail.com

Foxton Village Show

Saturday 7 September, 2.00pm

The Village Show is our biggest event in the FGA calendar. We had a great show in 2018 and encourage everyone to participate this year with entries in our wide range of horticulture, culinary and craft categories.  Every house in the village will receive a Village Show programme later in the year with all the details and an entry form.  It’s great fun for the entire family.
